GET READY FOR A SUPER BOWL FIESTA WITH LATINO FLAIR

This year’s Super Bowl Sunday is going to be special. The Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers will light up the scoreboard behind Patrick Mahomes and Jimmy Garoppolo, the top two quarterbacks in the NFL. And while neither team employs any players of Hispanic origin, the game’s host city of Miami is about to become party central… Latino style.

The big event will kick off with Demi Lovato, who struggled before nailing her hit song at the Grammy’s. She will try her best not to screw up the national anthem and get the party started. Then at halftime, the ageless Jennifer Lopez will hook up with Colombia’s Shakira in what promises to be a performance to remember.

Are you a local party animal or a tourist arriving in Miami early for the ultimate Super Bowl weekend? The entertainment prior to the game will be amazing. Plump and pretty Lizzo will headline at the Jackie Gleason Theater, and Lady Gaga will take the stage at the AT&T Super Saturday event. Other celebrities in town for shows include Guns N’ Roses, The Chainsmokers, Maroon 5, Snoop Dogg and Pitbull.

Staying at home and hosting a Super Bowl party? You’re going to need some help with appetizers to feed all those hungry guests. There are some great sides you can prepare with a nachos-like theme, like spiced lamb nachos and French onion soup nachos. Chef George Duran covered these recipes recently on Good Morning America.
